SMC Design win at the inaugural Cruise Ship Interiors Awards!
Interiors, Artwork and Branding represented in nominations across three new-build projects!
SMC Design has won two awards at the inaugural Cruise Ship Interiors Awards , picking up both ‘Best Outdoor Space’ and ‘Best Signage’ for their work on the Spirit of Discovery for Saga Cruises!
Inspired by popular British outdoor swimming pools and with a distinct Art Deco feel, The Lido comprises of sun loungers and deck games to create an easy atmosphere, whilst on an evening the bar area supports a dynamically lit stage area sat beneath the ship’s statement funnel.
“ From the patterning of the Bolidt decking, the ‘LIDO’ sign above the stage and the railings on the deck above, it was fundamental that the design elements of this space sat together. ” said Ben Wilson, Senior Designer / Project Manager
